The Fusion Center is a collaborative unit within the Battle Creek Police Department’s Investigations Division. The unit works with law enforcement agencies and community partners to address property crimes, violent crimes, quality-of-life concerns, and health and safety issues.
Key Functions and Services
- Analyzing crime trends and hotspots and sharing intelligence with law enforcement
- Monitoring crime statistics over time
- Providing victim services and connecting stakeholders to emerging issues
- Supporting data collection for law enforcement and community initiatives
- Strengthening partnerships to improve communication and collaboration
- Assisting major investigations and critical incidents
- Coordinating planning and response for local and regional events
The Fusion Center also serves as an information hub and operational resource for all BCPD units, including Patrol, Special Investigations, Gang Suppression, Detectives, Community Services, and Administration.
Personnel
The Fusion Center is a combination of Battle Creek Police Department personnel and outside partners, both civilian and law enforcement. Many of these community agencies have dedicated personnel to work on-site in the Fusion Center either full-time or part-time as their organization allows.
