BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Battle Creek City Commission voted unanimously Tuesday night to extend an offer to Amanda Zimmerlin to become the city’s next manager.
The vote was 8-0, with one commissioner absent.
Zimmerlin was one of three finalists for the position. She currently serves as city manager for Clayton, Ohio, a role she has held since February 2020. Prior to that, she was assistant city administrator for Springdale, Ohio, from 2016 to 2020.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Dayton.
The offer is contingent on a successful contract negotiation and background check. The city’s goal is to have an approved contract in place by the commission’s first meeting in September.
