Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a reported front porch on fire at 115 Bowen Ave. Engine 2 arrived within two minutes to find flames and smoke showing from the porch. The home was unoccupied. A hose line was extended to quickly extinguish the fire. Due to the quick response and actions of fire crews, the fire did not extend into the home. Engine 5 assisted on scene. No injuries reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
