Community Parks

Focus of the Community Parks
The city’s community parks are diverse in nature, and serve a broader purpose than other categories of parks in the community. While community parks may include amenities found in smaller parks, the focus of a community park is on meeting community-based recreation, athletics, and open space needs.

These parks may contain significant athletic complexes, aquatic amenities, walking paths, picnic areas, and various other active and passive amenities depending upon community needs and site suitability. Community parks in Battle Creek range in size from 1 to 144 acres and typically serve an audience within a more than three-mile radius.
